Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) grew from a national movement dedicated to survivor safety, community awareness, and breaking the cycle of abuse, with October officially recognized by Congress as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in 1989.
For 50 years, Hope & Safety Alliance (formerly Womenspace) has been serving survivors and their children across Lane County with advocacy, support, and pathways to safety.
This October, we invite our community to join us in standing with survivors and committing to a future where everyone has access to safety.
